Dr. Tariq Cachalia is a Sydney-based general surgeon, committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. He specialises in General, Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric surgery, and strives for the best possible outcomes for every patient.
Dr. Cachalia initially trained as a physiotherapist, then went on to study Medicine at the University of Sydney followed by a Masters of Surgery. He completed his general surgical training based at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA), and then completed further subspecialty fellowships in Transplant and Upper GI Surgery.
His excellent training reflects a strong academic background and dedication to surgical excellence.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Cachalia is passionate about medical education including involvement as a clinical tutor for the UNSW Medical School, mentoring future doctors and contributing to the advancement of surgical training.
Outside of work, Dr. Cachalia enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children and has a keen interest in cooking, running, and travelling.
